About Us
We are a family business, situated between the delightful villages of Dunsfold and Plaistow, in grounds of 20 acres surrounded by pine forests. We are a family business, run by resident owners Trevor and Sue Bagley and recently joined by Sue’s brother, Kevin Ballard. We have four full-time, caring staff, all of whom have experience with dogs and cats and have pets of their own, so you know your pets will be well cared for during their stay with us.
We are fully licensed, having been awarded a 5-star rating after our inspection from Waverley Borough Council (find out more), and we are happy to show you around (during opening hours, as displayed below).
Our kennels are modern, with heating and covered runs, with separate facilities for small dogs/puppies and larger family rooms for owners with more than one dog. We can also board bitches in season. We have three separate kennel blocks - this enables dogs to have individual pens and runs.
Dogs get a lead walk each day around our own fields - we feel this is more ‘hands on’ than just using runs or turn-out compounds. Cats who love a cuddle and brush will get this, and those who don’t can sleep quietly. We feed individual diets too, which we find helps pets to settle into our routine more easily. We supply all bedding and feed bowls.

Here at Burntwood we also have two catteries, one for single cats, the other for multiples up to four. We use the larger throughout the year - the other comes into use during peak times for single cats, reserving the larger for multiples. Both have separate apartments inside and out, with a covered run, and they are situated away from the dog kennels. Each has heating to ensure the utmost comfort during the winter months. We regret that we cannot accept entire male cats for boarding.
Most of our boarders start off staying with us as puppies or kittens, and continue to board with us as they grow into old age, so they become part of our extended family! We are also happy to take older healthy animals.
We have owned Burntwood Kennels since 1991 and over these years have - with our staff - cared for your pets to the best of our ability, our aim being to continue to provide the best care and comfort, keeping your pets happy and content throughout their stay with us.
Our kennels & cattery are open every day Monday to Saturday 9am to 4:30pm
& Sunday 9am to 12pm. We are closed all Public/Bank Holidays and Sunday afternoons.
